We used to eat at Houston’s in Boston occasionally years ago when Jim worked downtown. He ordered their Thai Noodle Salad once and liked it so much he was inspired to recreate it at home. We now regularly make Jim’s version of this salad, based on what he remembered from the restaurant — spaghetti, shredded cabbage, peanuts, avocado, shredded carrot, a Thai vinaigrette.
So it was crazy exciting to see bon appetit post the actual Hillstone restaurant recipe for Thai Steak and Noodle Salad.
We used steak from McCann’s Local Meats. There were way more ingredients in the official version than the improvised version — even some that could be left out in the future. It was much better with ramen noodles than spaghetti. The official dressing was also really, really good (we used Korean red paste as our hot pepper paste). Excellent dinner.
